There is something very reassuring to know that there are people out there that are fighting the cause for farmhouse cider. Specialising in artisan cider, Ciderpunk.com champions authentic homemade ciders, producing an online community of cider fans and producers, mainly from Somerset, and generally keeping each-other up-to-date with the latest events.
 
The design of the site is basic for the fast evolving world of web design, but it wouldn’t benefit from a redesign, as it does what it needs to. The site exists primarily to sell cider, and therefore this is the main reason for most visitors to go there. But the clever thing about this website, is that with the Blog section and recipes, and overall friendly feeling you gain, it makes you believe that there is such a thing as buying local on the internet – you know who you are buying off.
 
The underlying story here of course is that farmers are having to evolve their tactics as far as creating interactive websites in order to beat the supermarkets, and this is something that is done successfully at Ciderpunk. This kind of website, with its authentic and traditional basis, is almost as refreshing as a pint of the cloudy stuff itself.
